Speech Pathologist

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Pathologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for adult and pediatric patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in an acute rehabilitation and outpatient setting. Working within a collaborative, patient-centered environment, you will conduct detailed assessments, develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and deliver one-on-one and group therapy focused on maximizing functional communication and safe swallowing. You will document all care in the electronic health record with accuracy and timeliness, track patient progress toward measurable goals, and communicate regularly with patients, families, physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. You will provide patient and family education on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and home exercise programs, helping to support successful transitions across care settings and into the community. As part of Altru Health System’s commitment to innovation and quality, you will participate in performance improvement initiatives, contribute to program development, and incorporate current research and best practices into clinical care. You may have opportunities to supervise or mentor students, assist with training new staff, and participate in community outreach related to communication and swallowing health.
