Speech Pathologist

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a compassionate and patient-centered Speech Pathologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our rehabilitation setting. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat adults and/or children with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders resulting from neurological, developmental, or medical conditions. Working in close collaboration with physicians, nursing, physical and occupational therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support functional communication, safe swallowing, and improved quality of life. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, administering and interpreting standardized tests, providing evidence-based therapy, documenting progress in the electronic medical record, educating patients and families on strategies and home programs, and participating in care conferences and discharge planning.
