We are seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to support a modernized approach to database operations, with a strong emphasis on automation, standardization, and improved configuration practices. You'll join a team focused on evolving how databases are managed across diverse platforms. While the broader environment includes both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies, this position is dedicated primarily to Oracle database engineering and administration within IBM AIX UNIX, Oracle Exadata, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain Oracle databases and Exadata systems, along with the IBM AIX UNIX platforms that support them
Proactively monitor database environments to maintain stability, availability, and performance
Support automated and continuous delivery initiatives at the database tier
Enhance operational efficiency through scripting, automation, and modern tooling
Recommend and implement improvements to database services based on operational experience
Collaborate closely with Java and .NET application development teams leveraging Oracle databases
Serve as a technical authority for Oracle-related initiatives and new implementations
Contribute to Agile development processes, including participation in SCRUM ceremonies
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and core database principles (experience with GoldenGate is a plus)
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database monitoring
Experience working with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle RAC configurations
Hands-on experience administering Oracle databases on UNIX-based systems, including IBM AIX and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Proven ability to tune SQL queries and optimize overall database performance
Exposure to configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet
Working knowledge of database backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Cohesity, Spectrum Protect, or similar tools)
Solid UNIX system administration background (AIX and/or RHEL)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-facing skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and collaborate across teams
Experience with containerized environments and Oracle pluggable database (PDB) architecture
Demonstrated focus on service quality, reliability, and delivery excellence
Prior hands-on experience supporting Oracle Exadata systems is preferred
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server integration and reporting tools (SSIS, SSRS) is preferred
Familiarity with Splunk or similar monitoring/logging platforms is a plus
