Role Overview
We are seeking a Backend Developer to build and maintain the server-side components of a custom web application. The backend will process data, integrate with an AWS-based lakehouse, and support frontend interactions through scalable APIs. The system is deployed in an AWS environment using containerized services.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop backend services using Python to support data processing and business logic.
"
Integrate backend services with AWS Lakehouse data sources and perform SQL-based data retrieval.
"
Build and maintain APIs that support frontend interactions and data exploration features.
"
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them on Kubernetes (EKS).
"
Work with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to support automated builds and deployments.
"
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and data scientists.
Required Skills
"
Strong experience with Python backend development.
"
Experience with PostgreSQL databases and SQL queries.
"
Hands-on experience with AWS, including containerized deployments.
"
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
"
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and scalable backend architecture.
Nice to Have
"
Awareness of embeddings or advanced data use cases planned for future phases (not mandatory).
