This role is 100% on site and will be a 9/80 schedule with on console during operations periods We are looking for a dynamic Systems Engineer to join their team in Sunnyvale, California.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
Design, implement, and maintain virtualization infrastructure, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies
Provide expert-level Windows administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems
Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization and Windows environments, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualization and Windows environments with other IT systems and infrastructure
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to virtualization, VMware, and Windows environments
Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline virtualization and Windows administration tasks
Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company policies for virtualization and Windows environments
Provide training and guidance to junior team members on virtualization, VMware, and Windows administration
Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support for critical systems and infrastructure
Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using OpenShift and OpenStack, including container orchestration, deployment, and management
Develop and maintain containerized applications and microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies
Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud-based applications and services with other IT systems and infrastructure
Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company policies for cloud-based environments
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on virtualization, VMware, Windows administration, and cloud technologies
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related products
Expert-level knowledge of Windows operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills
VMware VCP or VCAP certification
Microsoft MCSA or MCSE certification
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification
OpenShift and OpenStack certifications, such as Red Hat OpenShift Administration or OpenStack Foundation Certified OpenStack Administrator
Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, or Perl
Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
Knowledge of IT security frameworks and compliance regulations, such as DCSA
Experience with cloud-based storage solutions, such as Ceph or Gluster
Experience with cloud computing platforms, including OpenShift and OpenStack
Ability to obtain DoD top secret security clearance
Clearance:
Secret - Must be willing to upgrade to TS immediately
