As a QA Auditor, this role is responsible for ensuring finished products meet defined quality standards before release to finished goods. This position plays a critical role in protecting the customer by executing sampling plans, performing inspections, and validating form, fit, and function requirements. The QA Auditor evaluates internal retains, identifies defects using established classification criteria, and ensures that nonconforming material is properly contained and addressed. A typical day may involve inspecting finished product, analyzing inspection data, verifying documentation, participating in shift-to-shift communication, and collaborating with operators, leads, and shift managers to ensure zero defects are released to the customer. On offset printing press assisting with independent evaluation of color control to approved standard, initiate action if incorrect. Evaluate color consistency of shingling sheets pulled each load, initiate action if incorrect. Evaluate a full printed press sheet using the Eye C Comparator. Assist in material tagging of nonconforming products generated throughout the different department processes. Verify line clearance is complete and documented if not stop the process and follow procedure. Verify make ready steps are complete and accurately complete. Assist with Go/No Go decisions. Evaluate all processes to verify procedures are followed. Work with operations to verify specifications are being adhered to. Act as a backup for quality inspector. Other responsibilities assigned by QA Management (pull retains, projects, audits). Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and resolve quality issues through established escalation and problem-solving protocols. Ability to multitask while consistently applying quality standards across multiple customers and products. Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to inspection and documentation. Working knowledge of statistical process control concepts. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and comprehension. Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and data entry skills. Proficiency with Microsoft applications and the ability to navigate defined quality processes and procedures.
