Job Responsibilities
Consult with clients to resolve application issues and identify business needs throughout the project life cycle
Architect, design, code, and test software applications using RPG and SQL
Ensure program and application integrity through various testing phases
Document system architecture for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Lead a small technical team and conduct code reviews for database and logic changes
Qualifications
20+ years of proven experience with the IBM i (iSeries/AS/400) platform
Mastery of various forms of RPG, especially RPGLE, including Free-form syntax and embedded SQL
Expert-level DB2 application programming and database design skills
Deep understanding of ILE concepts, including Modules and Service Programs
Experience with structured deployment and version control processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with major IBM i ERP systems such as Infor LX, BPCS, or JDE
Familiarity with distribution, manufacturing, finance, and insurance applications
Experience with RDi (Rational Developer for i) or Eclipse-based IDEs
Familiarity with Git or SVN in an IBM i environment
Experience with integration solutions using APIs, JSON, and XML
