This work-from-home Patient Support Representative position requires that you live within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare Hospital.
Job Summary As a Patient Support Representative, you will conduct eligibility screenings, assess patient financial requirements, and counsel patients on insurance benefits and co-payments. You will act as a liaison between the patient, hospital, and governmental agencies and be involved in all case management areas.
Responsibilities
Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
Reverify benefits, obtain authorization/referral after treatment plan discussion, and ensure appropriate signatures on all necessary forms.
Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements, and all other documentation required for eligibility determination.
Complete and file applications; maintain proper follow-up with patients and government agency caseworkers to ensure timely processing of all mandated applications.
Enter all insurance, demographic and eligibility information accurately into the system and document progress notes to the patient’s file and hospital computer system.
Participate in ongoing, comprehensive training programs as required.
Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the office, and assist with other office functions as requested.
Make field visits as necessary.
Qualifications
Previous experience with government programs such as Disability or Medicaid/Medicare preferred.
Minimum one-year related experience required, preferably in healthcare.
Relevant education may substitute for the experience requirement.
Work-from-home roles require high-speed internet (25 MB download and 15 MB upload).
