What You Will Do
Execute the installation of a technical discipline at the installation site.
Perform highly visible on‑site and remote software installations and upgrades of all Varian Software products, including troubleshooting and diagnosis as needed.
Work with physical and virtual environments, operating systems, databases and other software and networking technologies.
Review scope of work for assigned tasks to ensure all hardware and software components are available.
Review customer IT infrastructure and project plans to ensure they meet documented installation requirements.
Complete all necessary task documentation to meet Varian’s Quality processes and procedures.
Maintain customer system inventories using Site Equipment Configuration documentation or equivalent.
Keep current on Varian products and technologies through both internal and external training and certification.
Team up with project management, local service and hardware installation teams to provide world class customer service.
Require limited direct supervision.
Perform upgrades and new installations as well as team leader duties on small to medium scale software projects.
Input detailed records of installation and upgrade work performed into company information systems to ensure accurate updated customer installation information is available to other VMS functions.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety according to VMS guidelines and customer regulations in order to perform activities under the safest working conditions.
Report by means of time sheets, expense reports, etc. regularly and in a timely fashion to ensure that accurate company statistical data on customer‑oriented activities is available.
Use prescribed problem‑resolution escalation procedures and request technical assistance when necessary, in a timely manner.
Attend planning calls and provide technical input as needed. Advise customers on where to find Customer Technical Bulletins, Release Notes and related product information and why these documents are important.
Advise less experienced Installation Representatives in technical matters.
Willing to travel 50% to locations in the USA and Canada.
What You Will Have
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience and 1‑3 years of directly related and transferable experience.
Proficient computer usage and debugging skills.
Knowledge of and sound professional experience with Microsoft‑based server operating systems.
Customer‑focused attitude, articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication.
Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken.
Comprehensive knowledge of networks and networking techniques.
Functional knowledge of Citrix and VMWare technologies.
Familiar with business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and time reporting systems.
Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this position is: $58,240.00 – $88,080.00 USD. Factors which may affect starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
If this is a commission‑eligible position, commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
