divh2Nursing Assistant II/h2pThe primary role of the Nursing Assistant is to protect, sustain, and nurture the residents/patients that live at the Center. They provide assistance with activities of daily living, care of the resident/patients environment, and meet other needs as required. The goal of the work of the nursing assistant is to provide assistance that promotes a high quality of life for the residents/patients. The nursing assistant works as a member of a team that seeks to achieve a home like setting while maintaining excellence in all areas of care./ppIn addition, the nursing assistant will demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and mission of Hebrew SeniorLife and recognize resident/patients dignity and choice in all aspects of daily life. They are an active participant in the activities, work, and social environment of the unit/households, and strive to make every resident/patient encounter into a positive and meaningful experience and opportunity, while ensuring the provision of safe and efficient quality care./ppCore competencies include demonstrating empathy and compassion with all interactions with residents and with families, articulating the importance of supporting independence and resident choice when caring for residents, demonstrating strong communication skills and ability to foster teamwork, articulating commitment to excellence and high quality care, and articulating the importance of accountability and personal ownership related to teamwork and resident care./pulliRecognize and respond to the needs of the residents/patients and families/liliRecognize and communicate changes in the resident/patients condition to the appropriate nursing team member/liliAdhere to Safe Patient Handling practices, i.e. maintain a no manual lift environment/liliParticipate in Quality Improvement programs/liliAssist residents/patients with all aspects of personal care as indicated in the care plans/liliDocument pertinent information regarding care delivered in the designated areas of the resident/patients electronic medical record./liliReport accidents and incidents as they occur/liliReport any observed or suspected resident/patient abuse immediately/liliObserve and report skin integrity/liliParticipate in daily report team and care planning meetings as needed/liliBe proficient in obtaining vital signs and other procedures such as temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, blood glucose levels, pulse oximetry and urine and stool specimens as directed/liliPerform electrocardiograms and bladder scans/liliFollow infection control practices/liliAttend and participate in ongoing training and educational classes/liliMaintain confidentiality and privacy of the resident/patient according to HIPPA regulations/liliCommunicate effectively with peers, other team members, residents/patients and families/liliFacilitate life enrichment activities that encourage resident/patient engagement/liliMaintain cleanliness of the resident/patients room and common program areas/liliPrepare, serve, and clean up after meals and snacks/liliParticipate in committee meetings/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulpQualifications include MA Certified Nursing Assistant certification, fluent English skills, computer literacy, flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively, completion of mandatory HSL/HRC educational requirements and programs, core care competencies, and passing the nursing assistant skills test with 70% or greater./ph2Physical Requirements/h2ulliPlease refer to the Physical Requirements sheets in Occupational Health/li/ulpRemote Type: On-site/ppSalary Range: $15.00 - $28.00/p/div
