Job Description AECOM is seeking an experienced
Gas Power Generation Program Manager
to lead the development and execution of a portfolio of large‑scale natural gas–fired power generation projects. This role requires deep technical expertise in gas turbines or combined‑cycle power plants, outstanding project execution skills, and the ability to manage complex engineering, procurement, and construction programs from concept through commercial operation.
This role can be remote or based out of any AECOM office in the United States.
Responsibilities
Lead full life‑cycle delivery of major natural gas power generation projects, from conceptual design through commissioning and turnover.
Develop and manage integrated project execution plans, detailed schedules, budgets, risk registers, and quality plans.
Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, and environmental disciplines.
Manage EPC contractors, OEM partners, technical consultants, and third‑party service providers.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, environmental regulations, and client requirements.
Supervise review and approval of engineering documents, technical specifications, and construction work packages.
Coordinate HAZOPs, design reviews, constructability assessments, and commissioning readiness evaluations.
Conduct program‑level reporting, stakeholder briefings, and executive‑level progress presentations.
Manage financial performance, including P&L responsibility, change management, and risk mitigation.
Support business development activities including proposal strategy, client presentations, and pricing development.
Implement AECOM policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality outcomes and on‑time delivery.
Skills and Competencies
Strong technical expertise in gas turbine or combined‑cycle power plant systems.
Proven program management skills, including planning, resource allocation, and financial oversight.
Strong leadership and people management capabilities with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Willingness to travel to client sites or field locations as required (typically 10–20%).
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.
10+ years of experience managing large, complex natural gas power generation projects.
Demonstrated success overseeing multi‑stakeholder programs from initiation through closeout.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience commissioning gas turbine units.
Familiarity with gas turbine technologies, HRSGs, balance‑of‑plant systems, and high‑voltage electrical systems.
Experience coordinating engineering, construction, procurement, permitting, and regulatory compliance teams.
Working knowledge of power generation construction standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
Experience in cost control, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

Compensation $190,000-$190,000 per year
