Position: Field Service Technician – 6G Aluminum Welding (construction/industrial)
We’re looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to support projects at power plants and industrial sites across the U.S. This field‑focused role requires expertise in 6G aluminum welding, construction environments, and hands‑on mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced 6G aluminum welding in the field, ensuring high‑quality workmanship that meets ASTM and ANSI/AWS standards.
Coordinate tools, materials, and equipment for the job site to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.
Work closely with customers and subcontractors on‑site, representing our company with professionalism and strong communication.
Complete required safety processes, including Job Safety Analyses prior to any work.
Conduct welding inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting based on company procedures and project needs.
Provide the project manager with daily updates on progress, challenges, and any changes that may impact scope or timeline.
Help manage project costs by submitting accurate field documentation, receipts, and reports on time.
When not assigned to field work, perform welding and fabrication tasks in the shop to maintain steady hours and continuous employment.
Travel & Work Conditions
75% travel is mandatory, including overnights, extended field assignments, occasional short‑notice assignments; all expenses paid.
Field work often involves emergency or unscheduled tasks; hours may vary based on project demands.
Overtime or doubletime may be available during field assignments, in line with company policy and applicable wage laws.
A 20% fieldwork premium applies when working at remote job sites.
The role is permanent, not contract work.
Qualifications & Requirements
Demonstrated experience as a 6G aluminum welder in construction or industrial environments.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measurements, and fabrication drawings.
Prior leadership, crew coordination, or field supervision experience is preferred.
Ability to work hours based on business needs; not guaranteed to follow a standard schedule.
Willingness to participate in OSHA 30 training (required).
Valid driver's license with a good driving record (required).
Willingness and ability to travel 75% of the time, often to remote power plants and industrial job sites.
Ability to use basic technology and software, including tablets, laptops, and Microsoft Office products.
Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; stand, walk, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
