Summary The Senior Payment Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing Deel’s global payment processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions across multiple countries and currencies. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to streamline payment workflows, resolve payment issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a blend of payment operations expertise, analytical skills, and problem‑solving abilities to support Deel’s fast‑growing, global customer base.
Responsibilities Manage the end‑to‑end payment processing for Deel’s clients, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to payment regulations, internal policies, and client agreements.
Analyze payment data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex payment issues, working with internal teams and external payment providers to ensure swift resolution.
Monitor and report on key payment metrics (e.g., transaction volume, payment success rate, processing times) to leadership.
Develop and implement strategies to scale payment operations as Deel grows, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and vendors.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to optimize payment workflows and increase operational efficiency.
Provide training and support to junior team members, sharing expertise in payment systems and best practices.
Ensure the security and confidentiality of payment data, adhering to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
Continuously evaluate new payment technologies and providers, recommending improvements and integrations to optimize operations.
Qualifications 5+ years of experience in German payroll or a similar role.
Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly address and resolve complex payment issues.
Experience working with payment gateways, financial platforms, and payment service providers (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, banking partners).
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
