Our client, a products company, is wholly devoted to design, engineering, sales, and support of telemetry data systems and tactically oriented mission-critical communications solutions. They are headquartered in Hollywood, MD, with a great team, well-established product lines, and a growing client base.
The Telemetry Data Systems West Territory Sales Lead is primarily responsible for all sales and account development activity related to our client's telemetry data products, systems, and associated components. This Sales Lead position will also have the opportunity to sell our client's Communications products within territory. Given target quotas, this individual will build new accounts and grow existing accounts to drive revenue within the territory market segment. The Sales Engineer will draw upon their background in selling products to these vertical segments.
Responsibilities .
Initiate sales process by generating sales leads and scheduling appointments; making initial presentation; understanding account requirements
Close sales by building rapport with potential account, explaining product and service capabilities, overcoming objections, and preparing contracts
Maintain and expand sales revenue in existing accounts by introducing new products and services
Contribute technical and territory information to market strategy and recommend new products and services to the company by evaluating current sales results, monitoring competitive products, analyzing customer feedback and identifying needs to be filled
Keep up to date with product knowledge and sales skills by participating in educational and training opportunities, reading industry journals, etc.
Participate in and support the company's participation in trade shows and local industry meetings as required
Submit weekly CRM forecasting, planning, tracking and reporting to Sales Manager
Analyze records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, for use in future planning
Assist Sales Manager in developing key account strategy planning
Assist Sales Manager in developing short and long-term strategic sales strategies and objectives for the assigned market space
Participate in strategic sales and client account development planning
Work towards Corporate sales objectives to meet or exceed revenue goals
Aggregate customer feedback on market trends and participate in maintaining a strategic product line roadmap
Identify online presence and sales collateral requirements for assigned market space and work with Sales Manager to leverage corporate resources
Participate in relevant company and industry events
Substantial travel is required
Skills:
Cross functional sales skills to sell a wide range of technical products
Excellent Sales knowledge and Customer skills, including forecasting, lead generation, product demonstration, negotiation and closing
Ability to manage responsibilities independently and work remotely
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
High energy level with keen business awareness, strong competitive drive, and excellent people skills
Team player, aggressively hunting for new sales opportunities and customer relationship building
Excellent listening skills as well as solid verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams)
Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics CRM software or related enterprise CRM tool highly desirable
Ability to demonstrate / present systems and software to clients
Experienced in selling highly technical electronic products and systems
Background in airborne systems highly desirable
Proven track record of achieving sales revenue and quota goals, preferably with ground-based telemetry data systems or closely related electronics technology
Bachelor’s degree in electronics, relevant technical, or business degree preferred, equivalent electronics training in a military or civilian technical school desirable
Minimum of four years of experience with direct sales and / or hands-on technical field support of related technical electronic systems

Hollywood, Maryland, United States
At minimum, candidate must be located near a desirable travel gateway within our client's West Sales Territory; preferably near existing customer locations
Ability to work regularly from our client's headquarters office is highly desirable

Minimal Travel Required
Security Clearance level not required immediately but must be able to qualify and obtain when necessary.
