This is a hands-on role for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being deeply involved in the day-to-day mechanics of fund accounting. The Fund Accounting Manager will actively prepare and review fund-level financial statements, manage close processes, oversee capital activity, and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. You will work side by side with leadership, operations, and external partners to deliver accurate reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process improvements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the details, solving problems in real time, and balancing technical execution with team leadership and continuous improvement. What You’ll Actually Do
Execute core fund accounting activities, including recording capital activity, calculating allocations, and preparing investor reporting Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple funds, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules Analyze fund performance metrics and provide detailed reporting and insights to leadership Support audit, tax, and regulatory reporting by preparing documentation and coordinating directly with external partners Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators to address requests and resolve technical matters Manage cash activity, including capital calls, distributions, and reconciliations Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedural documentation Provide day-to-day guidance and review team output while remaining actively involved in technical accounting work Identify and implement process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system efficiencies To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) Active CPA license 5–6 years of progressive accounting experience within investment management, fund administration, or a related field Experience working with registered investment companies (fund administrator or investment advisor environment preferred) Experience preparing investment company financial statements and prospectus-related disclosures Familiarity with SEC filings and regulatory reporting requirements Public accounting/audit background strongly preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight client or regulatory deadlines Comfort working with large data sets and performing detailed financial analysis Analytical mindset with strong intellectual curiosity Entrepreneurial, proactive, solution-oriented approach Compensation & Location
