Job Title and Overview Senior Aveva Pi Engineer
Deep Digital are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Aveva Pi Engineer with a proven record of accomplishment in successfully implementing, optimizing, and maintaining the data integration and historian systems. The ideal candidate will possess in‑depth knowledge of industrial processes, data historian best practices, and a strong ability to lead and mentor junior team members. This role involves advanced technical responsibilities and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of data integration and historian systems.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Aveva Pi data historian solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in the team.
Data Architecture and Optimization
Design and implement scalable and optimized data storage architectures.
Conduct performance analysis and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Advanced Tag Configuration and Maintenance
Design and configure complex data tags to meet specific project requirements.
Conduct advanced tag maintenance and optimization.
Integration and Interface Development
Lead efforts to integrate historian systems with various control systems and third‑party applications.
Develop custom interfaces and connectors to enhance data integration capabilities.
Security and Compliance Management
Develop and implement advanced security measures to protect historical data.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, taking a lead role in audits and assessments.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
Investigate and resolve complex issues related to data collection, storage, and retrieval.
Provide expertise in diagnosing and addressing system performance bottlenecks.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all configurations, installations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to internal training programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or a related field.
Required Skills
At least 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with design, implementation and leadership in projects comprising of the following systems: AVEVA PI, AspenTech IP.21, AspenTech Inmation, Inductive Automation Ignition, PTC Kepware.
Certification or accreditation with any of the above systems.
In‑depth knowledge of data integration and historian system architecture and components.
Proven experience in optimizing and scaling data historian systems.
Strong understanding of industrial processes and automation systems.
In‑depth knowledge of industrial communication protocols (OPC, Modbus, etc.).
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks.
Familiarity with advanced data analytics and compliant reporting tools.
Experience with advanced data storage solutions and technologies.
Previous experience in mentoring and leading a technical team.
