As part of the Risk Technology team, you will focus on Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) initiatives, shaping the technology strategy to outpace sophisticated financial crime activities. Your work will span the entire business, tackling massive data challenges with a “build it right” mindset, setting new standards for engineering excellence.
Key responsibilities
Decompose complex problems into practical, operational solutions.
Ensure quality of technical design and implementation.
Act as an authoritative expert on system non‑functional characteristics such as observability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
Continuously learn and inject advanced technical knowledge into the community.
Handle several projects simultaneously, balancing time to maximize impact.
Serve as a role model and mentor within the community, coaching and strengthening technical expertise.
Learn stakeholder business, conceptualizing creative technical solutions that meet their goals.
Develop full‑stack applications with a product engineering mindset, balancing simplicity with flexibility.
Utilize AWS cloud infrastructure across the stack (IaaS primitives to PaaS offerings).
Implement best practices for modern engineering operations, including observability, SLOs, continuous deployment, and incident management, embracing a “you build it, you run it” mentality.
Employ big‑data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Dagster for large‑scale architectures.
Write high‑quality technical documentation to align partner teams and influence stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 9 years of experience in Software Engineering and solution architecture
At least 9 years of experience in Cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
At least 9 years of experience in Data architecture
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
10+ years of experience in Software Engineering & solution architecture
3+ years of experience building tools within AML, KYC, Financial Crime, or Fraud detection domains
3+ years of experience implementing AI/ML strategies for anomaly detection and entity resolution in a regulatory environment demanding high explainability
3+ years of professional experience implementing Product Observability
Salary & Benefits
Remote (Regardless of location): $286,200 – $326,700
Cambridge, MA: $314,800 – $359,300
McLean, VA: $314,800 – $359,300
New York, NY: $343,400 – $392,000
Richmond, VA: $286,200 – $326,700
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
