Location:
Southeast U.S. (Flexible within regional markets)
Company:
Owen Electric Company, Inc.
Industry:
Mission-Critical / Hyperscale Data Center Electrical Construction
About Owen Electric Company Owen Electric Company (OEC) is a rapidly growing electrical contractor delivering complex industrial, mission-critical, and hyperscale data center projects across the Southeast.
We operate with a field-first mentality, rigorous execution discipline, and an unwavering commitment to Safety, People, and Quality.
As demand for hyperscale infrastructure accelerates, we are expanding our mission-critical group with leaders who understand how to deliver at scale—driving consistency, repeatability, and predictable outcomes across multi-phase data center programs.
Position Summary We are seeking a Project Executive with deep experience in hyperscale data center construction and strong program-level leadership capabilities. This role goes beyond traditional project management. We need an operator who can direct a portfolio of large, technically demanding projects; align multiple teams around a unified execution strategy; and drive financial and operational performance across every phase of a data center program.
The ideal candidate has the executive presence to manage mission-critical clients, the technical depth to guide project teams, and the strategic mindset to build scalable systems, workflows, and teams. This is a high-impact, leadership-level role central to OEC’s long-term mission-critical growth.
Key Responsibilities Program Leadership
Lead multi-building or multi-phase hyperscale data center programs from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
Establish standardized processes, deliverables, and execution templates to ensure consistent outcomes across regions and project teams.
Anticipate program risks, long-lead procurement challenges, labor constraints, and design coordination issues—and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Financial & Commercial Management
Own program-level financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, margin protection, contingencies, and cost-to-complete alignment.
Oversee procurement strategy for commodities and long-lead equipment (gear, UPS/ESS, busway, cable, conduit, prefab components).
Ensure strong commercial terms, billing cadence, and positive cash flow across the full lifecycle of the program.
Drive disciplined change management and maintain clear visibility of exposure items and margin drivers.
Client Engagement
Serve as OEC’s executive-level liaison with hyperscale owners, general contractors, engineering partners, and key trade contractors.
Lead program-level reporting, presentations, and milestone reviews with a focus on transparency, clarity, and solution-oriented communication.
Build trusted long-term relationships based on performance, responsiveness, and technical expertise.
Operational Excellence
Support project teams in planning, staffing, scheduling, productivity tracking, and resource allocation to meet program demands.
Ensure schedule discipline by overseeing critical path activities, material release plans, prefabrication strategies, and commissioning readiness.
Promote excellence in safety, quality control, LOTO procedures, testing, energization, and turnover processes.
Team Development & Leadership
Mentor project managers, superintendents, coordinators, and emerging leaders within the mission-critical group.
Foster a culture of accountability, proactive planning, and continuous improvement.
Support organizational growth by participating in recruiting, onboarding, and team development initiatives.
Qualifications
Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical construction.
Proven success delivering hyperscale or large-scale mission-critical programs ($50M–$150M+ per program), not just stand-alone projects.
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage forecasting, buyout, margin performance, and commercial terms.
Deep familiarity with mission-critical electrical systems including redundant distribution paths, UPS/ESS, grounding, controls, and commissioning.
Experience leading multiple project teams across different sites or regions.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clearly at the executive and client level.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
Why Owen Electric Company
Opportunity to lead marquee hyperscale data center programs that shape the next evolution of OEC’s mission-critical business.
High-performance environment with strong field support, leadership alignment, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Competitive executive compensation, performance incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
A growth-focused culture where your leadership directly influences strategy, talent development, and company trajectory.
