As a Field Applications Scientist, you will provide remote and on-site customer training and applications support and facilitate instrument sales by conducting technical seminars and product demonstrations. You will also be responsible for managing customer sites with the goal of maximizing use of the Standard BioTools Cytometry and Tissue imaging products portfolio (High-End Instruments and Consumables) in the field.
The primary responsibilities will be within the assigned region covering the DACH and Eastern Europe region, and will report directly to the Senior Field Applications Scientist, Team Leader, EMEA.

Responsibilities
Conduct on-site and in-house customer training courses.
Provide phone, email and in-person customer applications support, including troubleshooting issues related to user technical skill, instrument operation, experimental design, and data analysis.
Assist in the creation and review of technical materials (manuals, application notes, presentations).
Provide technical sales support by conducting applications-based seminars and product demonstrations.
Manage proof-of-principle experiments for potential customers evaluating or writing grant applications for purchase of the Cytometry and Tissue imaging products (CyTOF XT, and Hyperion XTi).
Develop a close collaboration with your Regional Sales Manager, through planning and deploying territory actions.
Conduct new product evaluation/testing with R&D and beta test sites.
Provide constructive personal and customer feedback to R&D team.
Create and maintain support information in the company enterprise database.
Communicate project status, issues to management, users and staff.
Candidate Specification
M.S. in life sciences is required, with a Ph.D. and strong imaging background being preferred.
3-5 years of hands‑on experience in imaging, immunology, or cell biology lab is required, with previous field applications support experience being preferred.
Skilled in troubleshooting software, instrumentation, applications, and analysis of flow cytometry and/or mass cytometry platforms, with high level bioinformatics skills a plus.
Proficient in MS Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Able to travel at least 60% of the time, within assigned region and wider EMEA region as required.
Excellent organizational skills and technical writing ability, with strong communication skills and experience delivering scientific presentations.
