À propos

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Respiratory Therapist, PRN, to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our statewide, non-profit healthcare system. In this as‑needed role, you will provide high‑quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of settings, including emergency, critical care, medical-surgical, and procedural areas, supporting our mission of patient-centered, comprehensive care. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will assess patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, and adjust therapies based on clinical status and provider orders. Core responsibilities include performing and interpreting respiratory assessments; administering oxygen therapy, bronchodilator and other aerosolized medications; managing and troubleshooting ventilators and non‑invasive ventilation; performing arterial blood gas sampling and analysis; conducting pulmonary hygiene techniques such as chest physiotherapy and suctioning; and responding promptly to rapid response and code situations. You will document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, while maintaining strict attention to patient safety, infection prevention, and equipment quality control. As a PRN team member, you will provide flexible coverage for a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting unit staffing needs while gaining experience across diverse patient populations and acuity levels. You will participate in patient and family education on respiratory conditions, equipment use (such as inhalers, nebulizers, and home oxygen devices), and self-management strategies to promote safe transitions of care. In alignment with Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, teamwork, and inclusion, you will actively contribute to a collaborative environment by communicating effectively with colleagues, participating in interdisciplinary rounds when assigned, and supporting quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives aimed at improving respiratory outcomes and patient experience. Piedmont Healthcare is committed to your professional growth, offering access to ongoing education, training, and development opportunities so you can expand your clinical skills, stay current with evolving respiratory care practices, and advance your career while making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families across Georgia.
