Description
The Complex Engineer will be responsible for managing engineering activities at six (6) complex locations (2-Hatcheries, 1-Feed Mill, 1-Processing Plant, 1-Debone Plant and 1-Prepared Foods/DC Plant). The engineering activities include supporting operations management to promote continuous improvements within the complex.
- Design and develop improvement opportunities working with management teams and outside resources to explore opportunities for process improvements.
- Function as the project manager for assigned projects managing scope, schedule and budget.
- Communicate effectively to all levels of management.
- All other relevant duties to the job.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred with 10+ years of experience in industry related roles.
- 5+ years of work experience (prefer Food Industry related with Poultry emphasis).
- Must have experience with managing projects with multiple internal and external professional teams.
- Ability to recognize continuous improvement projects and develop found opportunities into projects (Six Sigma Green Belt preferred).
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Comfortable with speaking to large groups of people and leading project teams.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Power Point, Word, Excel and Access).
- Excellent CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit and 3D).
- Travel will be required along with w orking weekends and overnight as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
- Frequently sit for long periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
- May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
- Work around live chickens and/or raw to partially cooked meat protein odors.
- May be exposed to building structures up to 200 feet tall.
