The Physician Assistant (PA) in General Surgery will provide advanced surgical care in collaboration with attending surgeons. Duties include perioperative patient assessment, assist in surgical procedures, postoperative care, outpatient clinic responsibilities, and emergency consultations.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct history & physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests
* Assist in operative procedures under the supervision of surgeons
* Manage postoperative patients: orders, rounds, discharge planning
* Provide outpatient clinic care: pre- and post-operative visits
* Participate in consultation, emergency surgical evaluation
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, nursing, radiology, etc.)
* Maintain documentation, quality metrics, compliance with Health System policies
* Participate in call coverage
*Qualifications:*
* Master’s degree from an accredited PA program
* Current PA license in Georgia (or ability to obtain)
* National certification (e.g. NCCPA)
* Prior experience in general surgery or surgical subspecialties preferred
* Strong clinical and procedural skills
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
* BLS required; ACLS or advanced certifications preferred
* Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $104,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
