The Inside Sales Coordinator I serves as a key liaison between customers, account managers, production teams, and logistics. This role works closely with a team of Account Managers to ensure excellent customer service, timely order processing, and strong follow-through. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where safety is a top priority.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day customer communication, order status updates, and inquiries.
- Works directly with assigned account managers to support their territories and ensure customers' needs are met.
- Collaborates regularly with a regional team of inside sales coordinators to share information, coordinate coverage, and improve internal processes.
- Enters and manages customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring alignment with pricing, lead times, and delivery requirements.
- Collaborates closely with production and shipping teams to confirm availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Supports account managers by tracking open orders, assisting with customer follow-up, and being the first line of defense for accounts receivables matters.
- Addresses customer concerns or issues quickly and professionally, escalating when needed.
- Assists with inventory checks, product specifications, and order customizations as needed (e.g., cut-to-size lumber, treated wood, custom crate/skids).
- Supports account managers with various duties (e.g., monthly pricing maintenance, product code requests, design requests) as needed.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and helps streamline sales processes.
- Works with account managers to comply with customer request and to solve customer problems.
- Prepares various reports and correspondence as required.
- Contributes to a strong culture of teamwork, communication, and safety awareness in all daily activities.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of high school graduate
- 1+ year of experience in inside sales, customer service, or order entry - preferably in the packaging, lumber, or manufacturing industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manager priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a strong customer service mindset.
Preferred (but not required)
- Familiarity with wood products, lumber grades, or industrial packaging terminology.
- Understanding of freight/logistics scheduling.
Compensation & Benefit Information:
Hourly Pay Range: $23.00/hour - $26.00/hour, dependent on experience.
