Position Summary

The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, strong team performance, and adherence to company standards. This role assists in managing front- and back-of-house operations, driving sales, controlling costs, developing team members, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient restaurant environment.

Operations Management

Assist in managing day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service. Support opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures. Monitor food quality, service standards, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Ensure compliance with company policies, health department regulations, food safety standards, and liquor laws. Help maintain proper staffing levels and floor coverage.

Team Leadership & Development

Supervise, coach, and support hourly team members. Assist with training and onboarding new employees. Provide ongoing feedback and performance coaching. Lead by example and foster a positive, accountable team culture. Support employee engagement, morale, and retention efforts.

Guest Experience

Ensure exceptional hospitality and prompt resolution of guest concerns. Address guest complaints professionally and effectively. Support execution of service standards to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

Assist in managing labor costs, scheduling, and productivity. Support inventory controls, ordering, and cost management. Help monitor cash handling procedures, deposits, and POS compliance. Support achievement of sales, profitability, and operational goals.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards. Ensure compliance with company policies, security procedures, and risk management practices. Support incident reporting and corrective action procedures as needed.

Qualifications

13+ years of restaurant supervisory or management experience preferred. Full-service restaurant experience strongly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, labor management, and guest service standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler and/or Alcohol Service Certification, as required by state/local law.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, and carrying. Ability to work in a high-energy restaurant environment.
