What We Need:

We are looking for Machine Operators to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings - Operations team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will set up, operate, and troubleshoot computer-controlled machinery to produce high-quality parts that support our manufacturing operations.

We have Technical and Advanced levels available. During the screening process we will determine what level of role and location you will best qualify for based on your experience. 

What You Will Do:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of two-axis CNC and computer-controlled machines
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, templates, and setup instructions
  • Program, adjust, and troubleshoot machine settings, tooling, and calibrations
  • Perform machine changeovers, including bits, pods, and fixtures
  • Inspect parts for quality and make adjustments to ensure tight tolerances and high craftsmanship standards
  • Follow production schedules, standard work processes, and all safety and quality guidelines
  • Maintain production pace to meet operational goals
  • Perform basic quality checks and maintain a clean, organized workspace (6S standards)

What You Have:

  • HNI experience, skilled technical or manufacturing experience is required.
  • Consistent work history and dependability
  • Proven history of strong work performance
  • Knowledge of CNC programming preferred, but not required.

What You’re Good At:

  • Problem solving skills that deal with a variety of variables related to machine operation set up and proper machine cycles.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute to standard work
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently as needed
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, while maintaining a positive attitude and approach
  • Ability to perform high volume repetitive type work
  • Reading and interpreting basic production schedules/logs, blue prints and schematics
  • Ability to take direction, as well as, direct or delegate to others
