Your new company A growing Irish business operating in the infrastructure and construction materials space. Established 5 years ago, the company supplies bitumen products that support major road and infrastructure projects across Ireland. As a relatively young organisation, the business has a collaborative, hands-on culture, with a lean finance team closely involved in day-to-day operations and decision-making. The company has recently implemented a new finance system and continues to evolve its processes as it scales. Your new role This is a hands-on contract position within a small, collaborative finance team where you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations and reducing pressure on the wider team. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team across a broad range of activities, with responsibilities likely to include: Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations Assisting with management reporting and variance analysis Supporting treasury-related activities and cash management where required Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of financial information Assisting with audit queries and maintaining strong financial controls Contributing to process improvements and supporting the continued embedding of a new finance system This role is varied and flexible in nature, with the opportunity to get involved in multiple aspects of finance depending on business needs. What you'll need to succeed Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) Strong experience in financial accounting, including month-end close and reconciliations Proven ability to work across multiple finance activities in a flexible capacity Experience in busy, multinational or fast-moving environments Strong systems skills (e.g. ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a small team Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders across the business What you'll get in return In return, you will gain the opportunity to join a growing Irish business in a key support role, where your contribution will have a visible impact.
