À propos
Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to improve and save lives with compassion and high-quality care. As a key member of our invasive cardiology team, you will work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other professionals in a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment, contributing directly to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. In this role, you will assist physicians with a variety of invasive cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures, including diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, coronary and peripheral interventions, and other structural heart or electrophysiology procedures as assigned. You will prepare patients and procedure rooms, ensure proper functioning and calibration of imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and recording equipment, and maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and radiation safety standards. During procedures, you will scrub in to assist with catheter and wire manipulation, contrast injection, and device deployment as permitted by scope of practice, circulate to manage supplies and medications under direction, and monitor and document the patient’s hemodynamic status, rhythm, and response to interventions in real time. You will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record and procedure reporting systems, including patient assessments, procedural details, medications and contrast used, hemodynamic data, and any complications or interventions performed. The Cardiovascular Technologist plays an essential role in ensuring patient safety and comfort by completing pre-procedure assessments, verifying consents and required labs, assisting with moderate sedation monitoring, and providing thorough post-procedure care handoffs. You will follow all departmental and hospital policies related to infection prevention, medication safety, and emergency response, and actively participate in time-outs and other safety checks. Consistent with the culture of integrity, compassion, and accountability at Methodist Health System, you will collaborate closely with colleagues, communicate clearly with physicians and nursing staff, and respond calmly and effectively in acute and emergent situations such as hemodynamic instability, arrhythmias, or code events in the cath lab. You will support quality improvement initiatives by participating in data collection, equipment and supply management, and continuous process improvement activities aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency. This position requires flexibility to work on-site in a procedure-based environment, including participation in call rotations, extended shifts, or weekend and holiday coverage as needed to support emergent cardiac care. Methodist Health System offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement options, as well as opportunities for ongoing professional development within a collaborative and inclusive healthcare setting. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient-centered care while upholding the organization’s values in all interactions with patients, families, and team members.
