In this role, you will provide high-quality diagnostic CT and X-ray imaging services to support physicians and care teams in delivering timely, accurate diagnoses for patients across the continuum of care. Working in a fast-paced clinical environment, you will demonstrate our core values of integrity, compassion, and accountability in every patient interaction. As a CT/X-Ray Tech with Methodist Health System, you will perform routine and advanced CT scans and general radiographic exams for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient populations. You will be responsible for properly identifying patients, verifying orders, screening for contraindications, and explaining procedures to help reduce anxiety and promote understanding. Using your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging protocols, you will position patients accurately, select appropriate technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure. You will operate state-of-the-art CT and radiographic equipment, including performing IV starts and administering contrast agents in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines. You will monitor patients during and after contrast administration, promptly recognizing and responding to adverse reactions or changes in patient condition and escalating care as needed. Collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team is essential to ensure that exams are completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with clinical priorities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail in documenting procedures and patient information in the electronic medical record and imaging systems. You will verify exam parameters, ensure accurate labeling and patient demographics, and transmit images to PACS for interpretation. You will also participate in quality control activities, routine equipment checks, and troubleshooting basic technical issues, promptly reporting equipment malfunctions or safety concerns so that service and repairs can be coordinated. In keeping with Methodist Health System’s commitment to patient safety and an inclusive, collaborative culture, you will follow all infection prevention and control standards, maintain a clean and organized work area, and support safe patient handling and mobility. You will actively participate in department huddles, continuing education, and competency-based training to maintain and enhance your clinical skills in CT and radiography. You may be asked to assist in emergency situations, including trauma imaging and rapid response scenarios, prioritizing exams based on clinical urgency and collaborating closely with the Emergency Department and other units. The ideal candidate brings strong technical proficiency in CT and X-ray imaging, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach. You should be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including critically ill, trauma, pediatric, and geriatric patients, and be able to adapt quickly to changing clinical needs. Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are crucial in this role. This is a full-time position with Methodist Health System, offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options such as a 401(k), and opportunities for professional growth within a respected Texas-based health system. By joining Methodist Health System as a CT/X-Ray Tech, you will play a vital role in improving and saving lives, while working in an environment that values collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
