As a freelance interpreter, you will contribute to society by providing language access for clients across various settings. You act as your own boss, set your availability, and accept appointments based on your schedule.
Appointments are available Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Appointments are not guaranteed and are offered based on need.
Requirements
Legal and/or medical, mental‑health interpreting experience preferred
Fluency in English and target language with comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns
Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings
Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Basic communication skills
Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
Must be located in and authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
High‑school diploma or equivalent, or certification in interpreting or related fields
