Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented
Structural Engineer
to join the team. This role involves structural analysis, design, and engineering across diverse projects-from wood-frame construction to metal-framed structures and pre-engineered metal buildings requiring foundation design. You will collaborate closely with architects and designers, contributing to projects that are both challenging and rewarding.
Candidates must have experience with
heavy snow load and high seismic conditions . Licensure in Alaska with Alaska-specific experience is highly preferred. If not currently licensed in Alaska, candidates must have a clear path through the
NCEES
process to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe, including the ability to complete the
Cold Regions Engineering
course.
This is a
remote position
with
occasional site visits . All required travel is company-covered.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct independent engineering work, applying professional judgment in design and analysis.
Develop and adapt drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
Perform structural design and analysis using governing codes, standards, and engineering formulas.
Collaborate with architects and interior designers to integrate structural solutions.
Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with codes and best practices.
Conduct occasional site visits as required.
Qualifications Experience
Minimum of
5 years
of experience as a licensed engineer ( 10 years preferred ).
Experience with colder climates, high wind, and snow loads is a plus.
Licensing
Must be licensed in the
State of Washington .
Strong preference for candidates licensed in the
State of Alaska .
Candidates must be prepared to provide proof of all active state licenses.
Alaska licensure must be obtained within an acceptable timeframe if not already held (company assistance available).
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Civil Engineering
from a U.S.-accredited institution.
Skills
Proficiency with structural design software (e.g.,
RISA 3D
or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of structural codes, engineering practices, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Experience with computer-assisted design (CAD) software.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented environment.
Eligibility
Must be a
U.S. citizen
residing in the United States.
Preference for candidates located in the
western U.S.
due to frequent virtual team meetings.
Schedule
Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM PST
