You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team and will work under the direction of designated project leadership. Projects may include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.
Responsibilities
Perform and direct design of ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems independently on assigned projects. Complex projects may be supervised by a professional engineer. Assist with HVAC designs as needed.
Provide project management direction within the mechanical discipline, monitoring project progress and budget.
Prepare Revit/BIM models for construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic design to construction administration phases, including layout, sketches, and detail drawings. Perform Revit/BIM modeling for HVAC systems as required.
Edit specifications relating to existing or new projects.
Research and respond to emergent issues as needed.
Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Interface effectively with clients and project team members, attend owner, architect, and construction administration (OAC) meetings with an understanding of the project budget.
Respond to RFIs and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Participate in construction meetings and site walkthroughs as required.
Coordinate work activities on specific projects with several persons at various levels of capability, and participate in business development and marketing activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of 6+ years of related experience.
Current PE or FPE in the United States.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Working knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering, with ongoing development of higher-level knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
Experience with engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
Benefits The salary range for this position is $80,200 to $100,200. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
