As part of Hyatt’s broader FLS governance strategy, this project‑led position will reduce reliance on third‑party audits, drive consistency across brand portfolios, and enhance owner confidence through proactive engagement and oversight.
Responsibilities
Conduct internal Fire Life Safety audits for Hyatt properties.
Verify property compliance with Hyatt’s minimum FLS requirements and local regulatory standards, and oversee adaptations and modifications throughout installation of FLS systems.
Partner with Development, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify and resolve FLS gaps.
Monitor project schedules, manage construction documents, and confirm project completion. Provide technical guidance to design and construction teams during pre‑opening to align with Hyatt’s gold standard FLS practices.
Remain current with emerging technologies, national codes and best methods for automatic sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, life safety, and smoke control.
Collaborate with external Fire Marshals and local authorities as needed to ensure joint sign‑off and compliance approval.
Develop and maintain consistent internal auditing templates, checklists, and reporting standards.
Identify systemic issues, trends, or recurring FLS nonconformities and communicate these findings to Global Risk and Engineering leadership.

Qualifications
10 years of fire protection system inspections experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering combined with minimum 5 years of experience in Fire and Life Safety inspection, audit, or compliance roles (hospitality, construction, or facilities preferred).
Good working knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and the National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA).
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The salary range for this position is $98,000 to $130,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards and an annual bonus.
The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
