The Adjunct Global Campus Instructor position is a part-time, temporary adjunct employment opportunity. The Adjunct Global Campus Instructor performs duties relating to online instruction including posting faculty guidance and expectations, participating in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments, and promptly responding to student inquiries. This is an online adjunct teaching position, and other duties may be assigned according to experience and qualifications. The position supports high quality nursing education through effective online teaching, student engagement, and evaluation of learning outcomes consistent with program goals and accreditation standards. Essential Job Duties
Emphasize a student-centered learning environment through active engagement. Collaborate within the University community to ensure a positive overall experience for all University students, including coordinating with the Office of Access and Wellness to holistically support student success in the classroom by implementing university-approved accommodations, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to foster professional growth related to teaching for the UAGC student population, and the Student Records department to maintain timely and accurate student records. Facilitate and engage in classroom discussion boards, grade assignments and discussions, and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner in accordance with faculty requirements. Complete one professional development session per course taught (examples: synchronous faculty development opportunities, webinars, course development feedback). Establish relationships by creatively using available tools and strategies to enhance relationships, create a community of learners, and encourage active engagement. Foster critical thinking by challenging students to elaborate on their thoughts, question assumptions, examine biases, communicate clearly, and defend positions throughout the course. Provide instructive feedback that challenges and inspires students with specific suggestions to improve work and thinking. Demonstrate high expectations while holding students accountable for insightful exchanges and high-quality performance on assignments and active engagement in learning. Demonstrate instructor expertise by applying subject matter knowledge, sharing personal experiences, and connecting course content to real-world examples; enhance course content and resources to support understanding and application of learning outcomes. Support achievement of program and course learning outcomes. Maintain compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards. Participate in required faculty orientation, training, and evaluation processes. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate degree in nursing (MSN or higher) from an accredited institution. Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in at least one U.S. state or jurisdiction. Demonstrated professional nursing expertise relevant to assigned course content. Current or recent engagement in professional nursing practice (direct or indirect) sufficient to maintain expertise. Preparation for online instruction through graduate coursework, professional development, or institutional training. Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field. Prior teaching experience in Baccalaureate or RN-BSN nursing programs. Compensation
