Senior Python Engineer Responsibilities: Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework Design and build RESTful APIs for high-traffic production environments Improve platform performance by identifying bottlenecks and optimising database queries and asynchronous workloads Contribute to microservices architecture and distributed systems design Implement robust automated testing practices using Pytest and related tooling Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives Support engineering best practices across documentation, testing, and maintainability Required Experience: 5+ years' experience in Python software engineering Strong commercial experience with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework Proven experience building scalable APIs and microservices architectures Strong understanding of automated testing and quality-focused development practices Experience working with high-volume database operations Solid understanding of software design principles and backend performance optimisation Experience integrating third-party services and external systems Strong communication skills and ability to work within distributed teams Applicants must be eligible to work full-time in Ireland without restriction.
