Fabricator / Welder Location: Cork, Ireland Our clint Beara Iron Works, established in 1991, is a well-respected welding, engineering, and metal fabrication company. They started by supporting farmers, small businesses, and community members with general fabrication and machinery repairs, and have since grown into both service and manufacturing. They work on a wide range of projects, including structural and agricultural steel, slatted units, steel components for construction and home extensions, and marine fabrication and boat building, They continue to adapt and expand to meet the evolving needs of their clients. Competitive salary of €42,000€45,000 Secure, full-time position in an established company Varied and interesting projects with no repetitive production-line work Opportunity to work across agricultural, structural, construction, and marine sectors Supportive team environment in a well-equipped workshop Long-term career stability with a growing company The Role Key Responsibilities Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings and specifications Fabricate, assemble, and fit metal components using appropriate techniques and equipment Operate workshop machinery including guillotine, brake press, band saw, ironworker, and plasma cutter safely and efficiently Set up welding machines, tools, and equipment according to specifications. Weld components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) using different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick). Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Perform welding repairs as necessary. Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and company standards Conduct self-inspections and rectify issues where necessary Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment Communicate effectively with the Workshop Supervisor and team members regarding progress, issues, and improvements Skills and Experience Proven experience as a fabricator in a workshop or manufacturing environment Proven experience as a Welder in a similar role. Proficient in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Ability to read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings Proficiency in hand tools and basic fabrication equipment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Category B drivers licence Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Abrasive Wheel training preferred Ready to join our team?
