Job Description:
* Performs high-quality CT and MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
* Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).
* Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.
* Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
* Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Patient care and communication skills to deal with patients from infant, childhood, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
* Must be able to use computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
