The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely execution of all payroll processes across multiple states and entities. This role serves as a critical control point for payroll integrity, ensuring proper data entry, validation, audit documentation, and regulatory compliance.
This individual partners closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager, HR team, Finance, and operational leaders to maintain payroll accuracy, support employees, and continuously improve payroll processes in a fast-growing, multi-state environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Execution
- Process full-cycle multi-state weekly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees across multiple entities, including a union population.
- Accurately input and maintain payroll data including:
- New hires, terminations, and status changes
- Compensation changes and adjustments
- Time and labor data
- Deductions, taxes, and direct deposits
- Ensure all payroll activities are completed, timely, accurately, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Payroll Quality Control & Audit
- Perform detailed payroll audits and validations prior to each payroll run, including:
- Hours worked and overtime compliance
- Tax setup and withholding accuracy
- Manual entries and adjustments
- Direct deposit and
