About This Role
Hudson County Community College (HCCC) seeks an Assistant Director for the Nursing Program, to join its award-winning and nationally recognized institution.
Reporting to the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Director of Nursing directs the overall operations, daily activities, staff, and faculty of the Nursing program in support of the College's mission statement and in accordance with established goals and objectives, policies, and procedures of the Nursing and Health Sciences Division.
The Candidate should also demonstrate sensitivity to issues of diversity and have the ability to motivate and assist students of diverse, ethnic and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, cultures, and learning styles, as well as students with disabilities, or varied levels of academic preparation. The Candidate will be an advocate for access to higher education, particularly for first-generation and immigrant students. The successful candidate will preferably have an understanding and a commitment to the role of community colleges in higher education.
Summary of Duties
What You'll Do:
* In consort with the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, develops short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives that support the College's mission statement and offer quality educational programs and services in the Health disciplines to students.
* Defines, develops, implements, and monitors effective policies and procedures that support the goals and objectives of the Nursing Program. Initiates and implements ideas to enhance the program's current and changing programs offered within a diverse and multi-cultural community.
* Oversees and directs the ongoing activities of the Nursing Program to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness and positive outcomes of overall operations:
* Oversees the design and development of the curriculum and implements, administers, and assesses current and new program curriculum to ensure the provision of quality education and to meet the changing needs of the profession of Nursing and the students.
* Determines the schedule and content of courses with prerequisites to be offered each semester in consultation with the Dean. Coordinates the continuing assessment of curriculum and content of course offerings; develops new programs and courses to provide effective
