As an MRI Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Understands MRI safety concepts and executes them diligently and consistently to maintain magnet safety for patients, guests, self, and fellow caregivers.
- Understands MRI scanning parameters and, in coordination with the radiologist, selects appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques to ensure clinical exams are of good quality.
- Ensures proper patient identification, order identification, and prepares the patient appropriately for the exam.
- Performs MRI examinations according to system and department standard protocols.
- Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates appropriate anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.
- Under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician, performs contrast and medication administration inherent to MRI examination,
- Maintains competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
- Follows appropriate Intermountain policy and procedure including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
- ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, -or- ARRT(R) certification with at least 1 year full-time experience in MRI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- IV Competency within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
