The Director serves as the institutional lead for military and veteran initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, expanding enrollment pipelines, and developing external partnerships.
Strategic Leadership & Program Development
* Develop and implement a comprehensive, college-wide strategy to recruit, enroll, retain, and graduate veteran and military-affiliated students.
* Align veteran services with institutional priorities related to enrollment growth, student success, and workforce development.
* Lead the design and continuous improvement of programs that support transition, persistence, and career placement for military-connected students.
* Establish measurable goals, KPIs, and outcomes related to veteran student success and enrollment growth.
Military & External Partnerships
* Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with military installations, education offices, and Department of Defense entities.
* Serve as the primary liaison with external agencies including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, state veteran services, and military-affiliated
* organizations.
* Represent the College at regional, state, and national military and veteran education forums.
Enrollment Growth & Outreach
* Collaborate with Enrollment Management to develop targeted recruitment strategies for military-affiliated students.
* Build enrollment pipelines through military partnerships, community organizations, and workforce initiatives.
* Support marketing efforts that position the College as a top destination for military-affiliated students.
Compliance & Certification Oversight
* Provide leadership and oversight for all VA certification processes, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Serve as the institutional authority on VA education benefits and policies.
* Manages district-wide VA enrollment certification and related reporting requirements, such as 85/15, SAA catalog certification and approval, and
* managing VA Annual Reporting.
* Ensure timely and accurate certification of benefits and maintain audit readiness.
* Train staff across the institution on compliance requirements.
Student Success & Support Services
* Oversee delivery of holistic support services including onboarding, advising coordination, and benefits navigation.
* Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Advising, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs.
* Lead initiatives supporting transition from military to college and career.
Supervision & Operational Leadership
* Supervise and develop Veteran Services staff.
* Ensure efficient operations and high-quality student support.
Data, Assessment & Continuous Improvement
* Utilize data to assess program effectiveness and drive improvement.
* Monitor enrollment, retention, and completion rates.
* Prepare reports for senior leadership
Education:
* Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
* Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in education, military services, or related field.
* Must be able to become a VA Certifying Official authorized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of VA education benefits and compliance requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge of State Approving Agency (SAA) regulations, including 85/15 reporting, program approvals, and institutional compliance
* Ability to interpret and apply complex federal and state regulations and translate them into institutional policy and practice
* Experience with or ability to learn VA-ONCE or Enrollment Manager systems for certification processing
* Ability to build and maintain external partnerships, including with military installations, government agencies, and community organizations
* Knowledge of military culture, structure, and transition challenges for service members and their families
Other Requirements
* Must be able to travel to all campuses and centers.

* Master's Degree
Experience:
* Experience as a School Certifying Official (SCO).
* Experience leading enrollment growth initiatives.
* Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment
