Position Summary Information
Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion in student, faculty and staff.
Teach General Microbiology class with integrated lab. Create and assign homework and assessments. Grade papers, meet students needs outside of class and conduct student course evaluations.
Required Qualifications
# Master's Degree in any Biological Science with an emphasis in Microbiology; OR Master's Degree in Microbiology; OR the equivalent from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; OR Master's Degree in any Biological Science with substantial work experience in Microbiology.
# Use of email, Internet-based resources, and common office software.
# Understanding the community college student.
# Effective interpersonal skills.
# Understanding Delta Mission/Vision/Values.
A non-biology Master's Degree may be considered if the undergraduate degree has coursework and experience that is very strong in biological sciences.
Additional Experiences Considered
Preferences for the positions:
# Experience teaching biology or microbiology at the college level.
# Experience teaching and a community college.
