Senior Product Designer
The Senior Product Designer will be working in close collaboration with Development and Product team members to design ecommerce flows related to subscriptions and plan management. This is a ‘high-impact’ role, meaning you’ll be directly responsible for creating the designs and end-to-end user experience that ships to production on a regular basis. You’ll be a key contributor in designing large-scale experiences that represent significant milestones on our product roadmap and move us closer towards achieving our goals of building a robust subscription management experience that strengthens customer relationships, decreases churn, and increases lifetime value. You’ve got 7+ years of product/UX design experience and are comfortable delivering an end-to-end customer experience. You’re comfortable partnering with developers and able to communicate your designs from an end user perspective, helping engineers and developers build the services that result in great experiences for customers. Not only can you hang with developers, you’re a persuasive communicator and can explain a customer journey or your design rationale to other key stakeholders to get feedback and buy-in. Not only can you design, you’ve also got a head for business and understand marketing, product positioning and if called upon can do light market copywriting. You’ve got a knack for thinking both strategically and tactically. One day you could be defining the future state of our buyflows, creating comps that push the envelope on what’s possible while the next day you’re coming up with a design solution to fit a specific set of pre-determined requirements. You’ve got experience with user research and can translate usability findings, customer feedback and market research and into design concepts. You have experience working in an environment that prioritizes fast prototyping and frequent iteration. You’ve got a portfolio showcasing your incredible eye for beautiful, pixel perfect design and UX thinking. Experience working with Sketch, Invision, Zeplin and Jira. Plus, these are the values and the mindset you possess: You are a perfectionist: Your attention to detail is on the verge of being annoying. You take deep pride in your work, and your ideas for improvement are stacking up even before something goes out the door. You know you’re good—but you can always be better: You have no aspirations of being the solo rock star. Instead, you thrive on the energy and momentum created by a highly engaged and collaborative team. Sure, you have great ideas and you know you can produce great results, but you’ve learned that even the best ideas are even better when they are fostered and matured within a team of talented, passionate individuals. You’re not afraid of a challenge: Sometimes working in a very large company can be difficult. There are various systems to learn and business rules to account for, but ambiguity and unknowns don’t scare you—in fact, you love it. Bring it on. Whatever the challenge may be or plot twist that comes your way, you will figure out a way to build an elegant yet practical solution to design challenges. You can ship: You know what it takes to get things done on time. Sure, your designs could always be better, but you value getting things out in the wild and putting your ideas and designs out there for the world to see and experience and get the data back on what the next move should be. If you have these skills too, that’d be awesome, but it’s not required: Experience doing ecommerce design, Experience with interaction design—you don’t have be a hardcore animator or javascript expert—but a familiarity with interaction design would be great. Team-leading experience is a definite plus. Here’s what you’ll be doing on any given day: Create the UX rationale and UI design for our new ecommerce web experience, from ideation to completion Generating high-quality web mocks and UI components that scale both to different contexts and also at different screen sizes. Pitching your design concept to Directors and VPs explaining a user journey. Creating tickets in Jira detailing design specifications and functional requirements that developers and engineers can pick-up and build with confidence. Implementing an iterative design approach with short cycles & releases to build upon experiences based on user feedback and customer data. Creating a prototype to demo complex ideas, get buy-in and communicate requirements when appropriate. Employ a user-centric mindset to advocate for the customer, making recommendations to stakeholders and teammates on product direction, design, functionality, and usability.
