We’re hiring a Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts across our North American manufacturing group. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with GISC Quality leadership, this role is based on-site at our manufacturing plants and is critical to ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
This position represents the plants in front of customers and suppliers when escalations occur, coordinates containment actions, and drives long-term standardization of quality processes and best practices across the Product Operations footprint.
What the Group DoesThe Quality team ensures that our manufacturing operations meet stringent industry standards (AIAG16949, ISO) and customer-specific requirements. By embedding quality discipline into every stage of production, the group safeguards product reliability, reduces scrap, and strengthens customer trust. This role is pivotal in aligning plant operations with global quality strategies, making it a high-impact position that directly supports business growth and reputation.
What Does Success Look Like- Drive compliance with AIAG16949 and ISO requirements, acting as the plant representative during audits.
- Lead and develop the Plant Quality Technicians, ensuring strong performance and growth opportunities.
- Manage quality systems including warranty data, scrap data, compliance records, and customer concerns, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Reduce internal scrap by applying structured problem-solving methodologies and driving accountability with area managers.
- Provide technical support to customers and suppliers, resolving product liability and quality issues.
- Continuously improve the Quality Management System, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with ISO/IATF standards.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field
- 5+ years experience in a Quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Automotive industry experience
- Audit expertise with IATF/VDA standards
Preferred
- Six Sigma or Shainin certification
- Lean tools experience (Gemba, VSM, 5S, KanBan, TPM, SMED)
- Core quality tools proficiency (FMEA, PCP, PFD, SPC, MSA, PPAP)
- Financial acumen for operational decision-making
