Nuclear Med Technologist_MGFR

Intermountain Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Med Technologist_MGFR to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital-based imaging department. In this role, you will perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures using state-of-the-art gamma cameras and related imaging equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. You will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety standards and physician orders, ensure accurate patient identification, and follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself. The technologist will position patients, operate imaging systems, acquire and process high-quality images, and verify that study data is accurate and complete within the PACS and electronic medical record systems. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team, communicating clearly about exam protocols, patient status, and any unexpected findings. The role includes carefully explaining procedures to patients and families, addressing questions with compassion, and providing reassurance to help reduce anxiety during exams. You will be responsible for quality control checks on nuclear medicine equipment, maintaining accurate documentation of radiopharmaceutical usage and dosimetry, and adhering to departmental and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, Joint Commission, and radiation safety regulations. The position requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent or emergent situations.
