About the Role As Visual Merchandiser, you will play a central role in optimizing product placement and category performance across the retail sector of Chemist Warehouse. The position combines technical knowledge in planogram and floor layout software, with a strong understanding in retail merchandising, customer behaviour and retail operations. This is a highly cross-functional role combining space optimisation, category planning, visual merchandising excellence and improving customer experience while supporting business growth initiatives. Responsibilities - Planogram & Merchandising Strategy - Create, maintain and update planograms for all store formats and categories using software such as Blue Yonder. - Ensure visual layouts align with customer behaviour data, market trends, and product performance analytics. - Work closely with Buying, Marketing, and Suppliers to align space plans with promotional calendars and product launches. - Contribute to macro space initiatives and floor layout changes, ensuring consistency across all stores with compliance and safety standards. - Ensure planograms adhere to brand standards, regulatory requirements in pharmacy, and planogram compliance metrics at store level. - Track and report on planogram implementation results, providing recommendations for continual improvement in space productivity and customer engagement. - Test planograms and report back on feedback to the Buyers before planogram releases are due. - Catalogue/Compliance Promotions - Collaborate with the Buying and Marketing team on the production of compliance planograms to support the business plans. - Track and report on supplier compliance results post promotional periods, with sales and growth on supplier-funded planograms. - Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with the Head of Store Operations & Support to ensure the successful rollout of merchandising strategies and planogram execution. - Act as the key liaison between Buying, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure alignment of commercial goals. - Provide guidance and training to store teams on merchandising standards and visual presentation. Requirements - Minimum 5 years experience in retail merchandising, space planning, or category management, ideally within a high-volume retail or FMCG environment. - Strong knowledge of planogram software and space planning tools (e.g. Spaceman, JDA, or similar). - Proven ability to manage promotional calendars and catalogues end-to-end. - Commercial acumen and understanding of product lifecycle and category performance. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and customer data to inform decisions. - Excellent project management and communication skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. - Experience in a pharmacy, health, or beauty retail environment is advantageous.
