Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Float Pool LifeBridge Health, a regional healthcare organization in Maryland, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Float Pool within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. This role supports multiple units across the organization, providing compassionate, high-quality bedside nursing care wherever patient needs are greatest. As an LPN in the Float Pool, you will deliver direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. You will float between a variety of medical-surgical, step-down, specialty, and potentially ambulatory units based on your competencies and organizational needs. Your primary responsibilities will include administering medications, performing treatments and procedures within the LPN scope of practice, monitoring and documenting patient status, and promptly reporting changes in condition. In this position, you will conduct focused assessments, collect and document vital signs and patient histories, assist with admission and discharge processes, and provide patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and discharge instructions. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, follow standardized care plans and clinical protocols, and contribute to the development and revision of individualized plans of care under RN direction. You will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure safe, coordinated, and patient-centered care. Because this is a float pool role, you will be expected to adapt quickly to different clinical settings, patient populations, and workflows. You will use strong organizational and critical-thinking skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple patient assignments, and respond appropriately to urgent and emergent situations. You will follow infection prevention and control standards, maintain a safe environment of care, and actively participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice efforts. LifeBridge Health’s culture emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and community engagement. As part of this team, you will model compassionate, respectful communication with patients, families, and colleagues, support a positive and inclusive work environment, and participate in team huddles, meetings, and educational activities. You will have opportunities for ongoing professional development through in-service trainings, competency validations, and potential pathways to advanced roles or further nursing education. The ideal candidate is a patient-focused LPN who is comfortable working in fast-paced environments, flexible with assignments and schedules, and committed to continuous learning. You should be proficient with basic clinical skills and technologies, including electronic medical records, routine diagnostic equipment, and standard bedside procedures. You must be able to lift, reposition, and transport patients with appropriate support and use proper body mechanics and safety equipment. Working at LifeBridge Health offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the health and well-being of diverse communities in Maryland. As a Float Pool LPN, you will play a vital role in ensuring adequate staffing and continuity of care across units, while benefiting from exposure to a broad range of clinical experiences that support both professional growth and long-term career advancement within the organization.
