Design Engineer I (Entry-Level / Junior) Location: Fort Worth, TX (HQ) Department: Engineering / Product Development Reports To: Design Engineer II / Head of Engineering Department Position Summary The Design Engineer I supports the development of firearms components and mechanical systems by assisting in CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and documentation This role is focused on execution and learning , with exposure to full product lifecycle development from concept through production. Key Responsibilities
* Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks * Assist in development of firearms components and assemblies * Support prototype builds, testing, and data collection * Generate basic engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation * Assist with tolerance stack-ups and fit/function analysis * Work with manufacturing to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective * Support troubleshooting of design and production issues * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives * Maintain organized engineering files and revision control
Qualifications
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (required) * Basic understanding of: * Mechanical design principles * Manufacturing processes (CNC, molding, etc.) * Familiarity with GD&T (preferred but not required) * Strong willingness to learn and work in a hands-on environment
Experience & Education
* Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred) * 0-3 years experience (internships count)
