JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing guest service that results in sales of Western Store merchandise and promotions. Will cashier, replenish stock, arrange displays, and maintain store cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Provide the highest level of customer service by using guest services standards which include greeting and acknowledging guests in a friendly manner, and using the customer's name whenever possible.
  • Learn and become proficient in the use of the POS System and process transactions within department guidelines for all approved payment methods.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Stay informed regarding all existing and new stock items for better-promoting customer sales.
  • Promote customer satisfaction by coming out from behind the counter and conversing with customers.
  • Assist guests by providing product knowledge on all merchandise sold in the Western Store.
  • Will assist with checking in merchandise which includes unpacking and hanging new merchandise, tagging, and stocking sales floor pricing new merchandise, and putting freight away in an organized manner.
  • Maintains tidiness and organization by regularly cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning mirrors, etc., and all areas of the store as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy, bulky items onto shelving, including overhead when changing displays or replenishing products.
  • Promotes a clean, safe, healthy work environment by safely using all equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and supervisors.
  • Handle guest inquiries and or concerns efficiently and cordially, referring difficult situations to the supervisor.
  • Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  • Promote teamwork through punctual, responsible attendance which includes promptness regarding breaks, meal periods, and reporting to the workstation.
  • Promptly report all concerns to the supervisor.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS :

  • Retail Pro Point of Sale System
  • Storage areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Three (3) months of cash handling and three (3) months of customer service experience.
  • Will stand for long periods: handle and maneuver bulky 50 lb. boxes; perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • High School Diploma or GED or ten (10) years' experience.
  • Effective communication skills - verbally provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  • Requires a criminal history background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and experience in the Western fashion world; the western, farm, and ranch way of life; rodeo and equestrian fields.
