This role supports the design, development, and operation of a suite of web-based analysis tools used in mission environments. You will work across containerized React user interfaces, Java and Go microservices, custom REST security services, and data platforms including MongoDB and OpenSearch. These systems provide users with real-time alerting, advanced historical querying, and secure document storage and retrieval. What You'll Do Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications and services Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitLab runners Establish and manage staging environments and Kubernetes clusters Deploy and test software across multiple environments Create and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform Write and maintain Helm charts for application deployment Transfer software artifacts between systems and networks Produce clear technical documentation and operational guides Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization Who This Might Be a Fit For Design infrastructure that operates quietly, efficiently, and predictably Think in automation, reproducibility, and resilience Understand the full lifecycle - from code commit to production deployment Have deep experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerization Care about observability, documentation, and system health as much as uptime Required Skills AWS tools and services Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm Git and GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines and runners Linux systems administration Helpful Experience Areas Cloud-native systems operating in AWS environments Kubernetes-based deployments using EKS and Helm Secure REST services and service-to-service authentication Observability, logging, alerting, and performance tuning Working across front-end, backend, and data layers in integrated systems Years of Experience and Degree Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 20 years of experience OR 24 years of experience without a degree What You'll Build Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications and services Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitLab runners Establish and manage staging environments and Kubernetes clusters Deploy and test software across multiple environments Create and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform Write and maintain Helm charts for application deployment Transfer software artifacts between systems and networks Produce clear technical documentation and operational guides Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization Work Environment Based in Columbia, MD Up to 2 days of telework per week depending on tasking and customer needs Mission-focused teams supporting operational systems Engineers are trusted to own outcomes and make technical decisions What Comes With It You will have what you need to do your best work: Fully covered health insurance for medical, dental, and vision Paid parental leave: 16 weeks if you give birth, 4 weeks if your partner does Flexible leave: 36 days total each year, including 25 days of PTO and 11 paid holidays 401(k) for your future Short-term and long-term disability Annual health stipend if you opt out of our insurance See our benefit plan here:
