SEN-ENG-DSAJob Band: 10Direct/Indirect Indicator: IndirectSummaryAs a senior Systems Engineer team lead for the Automation and Control Design group at Celestica, you will be responsible for leading multidiscipline development project teams, project level oversight such as proposal development, system requirements, technical direction, cost, schedule, and will be front facing with internal customers. The senior systems engineer team lead will also be responsible for developing electrical engineering staff capabilities and assignment of projects based on the needs of the business. This role is a technical and project management leadership role and requires the ideal candidate to be able to support both aspects. Working within a global environment, the senior systems engineer will work with the various global regions to coordinate development efforts and technology road maps promoting interoperability.Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:Bachelor of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalentProvide leadership and oversight of projects assigned to the electrical/SW engineering group. This may include managing project schedule, cost, scope, and objectivesOrganizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the team on trackExcellent understanding of electromechanical systems and mechanical components integratonSelf-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environmentProvide technical leadership for capital projects, including automation system design, control system hardware, equipment design, control panel design, and instrumentation start-up and troubleshootingDevelopment of technical standards, guidelines, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices for executing large projectsSupport manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting of operational issues in manufacturing, maintenance, validation, or capital projectsStrong C/C++/C# skillsAbility to work with the team to specify components and design control circuits (e.g., motor controls, machine safety, temperature control, power distribution, and low voltage control)Lead or participates in engineering design reviews as requiredLead Technical and business Risk assessment including safety for projects assigned.Applying AL algorithms to enhance productivityExcellent verbal and written communication skills at multiple organizational levels7+ years of related experience managing hardware/software designs, test, and integration.3 years required of direct people management.Approximately 10% international travel Knowledge/Skills/CompetenciesKnowledge of OPC UAKnowledge of Solid Works ElectricalFamiliarity with Solid Works mechanicalWorking Knowledge of AL algorithmsKnowledge of PLC programming with Siemens and Beckhoff productsKnowledge of Cognex and Keyence vision systemsPhysical DemandsDuties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
